At Innovative Psychological Services, we are 100 percent child and family focused. We provide services for children with autism, learning disabilities, behavioral problems, ADHD, anxiety, depression, and social-emotional difficulties. We conduct psychological testing, neuropsychological testing, and therapy. It’s our primary goal to provide the best possible care for each child and family.
Through assessments and testing, we will identify your child’s strengths and weaknesses. We will develop an individualized plan to work with your child using a learning style that best meets his or her specific needs. Regardless of your child’s challenges, we’ve found that you can accelerate learning and development when therapists, parents and teachers all understand how your child learns and processes information. If you suspect that your child is on the autism spectrum, we will navigate through the diagnostic process with you. If your child is diagnosed, we can help you understand what the specific diagnosis means for your child and family and discuss the best treatment options.
In therapy, we work with both you and your child in real time so you can develop a stronger connection and communication style. In addition to using traditional therapy approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we’re also one of the only private practices in Northern Virginia to provide Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). PCIT is an innovative treatment that improves behavior, parent-child relationships, and school outcomes. While you interact with your child, one of our highly trained psychologists will observe your interactions from behind a one-way mirror and provide you with coaching. This helps you develop skills in real time.
At Innovative Psychological Solutions we value honesty, direct communication and follow-through. We are passionate about our work with children and families, and will be available to you throughout the whole treatment process – not just one hour a week. We stay up-to-date on the most current research and treatments and work both within our private practice as well as within the community providing education and early intervention techniques to teachers, counselors and other service providers. You don’t have to navigate this challenging time on your own. There is help, hope and support. Please call us for a free phone consultation to discuss your child’s specific needs and to ask any questions you have about testing, treatments or our practice.
